Neurodiversity Affirming Therapy

Meet Dr. Kimberlee Flatt, PhD.

Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Licensed Behavior Analyst

Hi! I am Dr. Kimberlee Flatt.

I’m passionate about empowering folks who feel stuck, overwhelmed, and disorganized in their thinking or life.  In particular, I have a special heart for different kinds of thinkers. Whether it be related to autism, ADHD, or just those that tend to find themselves outside the box. I love to partner with people as they navigate their individual journeys. Neurodivergent folks often spend a lot of time feeling misunderstood, different, or out of step with others. These amazing people often spend so much mental time and energy trying to live in the exhausting world around them that they fail to see the unique strengths, beauty, and skills that they possess.

Diversity in neuro-types is beautiful. There is value in what these brain types have to offer in personal relationships, in their communities, and in our world.

The process of discovering more about who you are is something to embrace and celebrate!

As humans, we are always in an ongoing development process, including our sense of who we are.

We can learn a lot about ourselves by observing our individual challenges and discomfort, but we cannot stop there! Life is a process, a journey; we should be intentional in the directions we are headed and know what is truly important to us. I find a sense of fulfillment in walking alongside others in their journey. I don’t expect any of our journeys to look the same, but I deeply value the importance of having someone to journey alongside - wherever the road may lead.

We believe those with autism, ADHD, and other diverse brain types are exactly who they are supposed to be. We also recognize that navigating the neurotypicals and other challenges common in this brain type can be difficult.
